Summary and Highlights of Phase One Goal Achievement
1. Budget implementation
The first phase of the main project received a total of 106.3 million yuan in subsidies from the Ministry of Education, and our school proposed a matching fund of 21.42 million yuan (accounting for 20.15% of the all subsidy funds).
2. Important implementation highlights
The first phase of our schools deep cultivation plan focuses on improving students’ learning effectiveness, promoting the integration of learning, applying, and cultivating students’ employability and international competitiveness. The results and highlights are as follows:
1. Improve learning interest and promote teaching effectiveness: To improve teachers’ teaching quality, raise interest in students’ interest in learning, and obtaining learning effectiveness. Our schools use of innovative teaching with teachers from 2017 accounted for 1% to 19.92% in 2022.
2. Enhance the value of patent: assist students in guiding students and applying for patents. The number of patent applications and certificates issued by The Intellectual Property Office, the school ranked first among private science and technology universities in the country from 2018 to 2021, and was the only university in the country to enter the top 10 universities in 2021. Using the related patent results, it participated in the International Invention Exhibition Competition announced by the Bureau of Intellectual Property from 2018 to 2022, Geneva, Switzerland, Taiwan Innovation Expo, Seoul International Invention Exhibition, South Korea, and won 42 gold, 43 silver, 43 bronze and 15 special awards.
3. Improve international mobility and foreign language learning ability: conduct foreign language teaching by different language proficiency and set up advanced practical foreign language classes, and the proportion of passing the graduation threshold with language certificates has increased from 57% in the 2017 graduation year to 82.01% in the 2021 graduation year. In addition, in order to improve the ability of international mobility and integration, a total of 574 students were recommended to Japan, Australia, Singapore, France, Italy and other countries for internships in the 2018-2022 academic year.
4. Launching the cross-field credit courses and constructing a cross-field learning environment: In order to cultivate professional and cross-field talents in line with the cutting edge careers, we will continue to innovate and optimize every departments courses. In the academic year of 2021, all colleges have offered interdisciplinary courses to strengthen students’ second expertise and employment competitiveness. Currently at the present, a total of 7 interdisciplinary credit courses are offered for students to choose.
5. Optimizing various teaching facilities and improve the quality of teaching innovation: In order to improve students’ learning effectiveness, innovate teaching models, and continuously optimizing various teaching facilities, each college has built characteristic professional classrooms (centers), such as Industrial Robot Centers, Marketing Audio-Visual Live classroom, Audio-Visual Teaching Creation Space, and more. In addition to allowing students to learn in a high-quality teaching environment, we also cooperate with well-known companies such as Shangyin Technology, Nanya Technology, No Storefront Association, Lion Group, Taipei Pop Music Center, and others. Together we bring corporate resources into the curriculum and jointly cultivate student talents with practical strength in the enterprise.
6. Improving employment competitiveness, our focus on advanced manufacturing processes, and promoting Industry 4.0 model: Under the influence of the aging population and the declining birth rate, the labor force population is rapidly declining. In order to promote digital manufacturing, smart manufacturing and industrial upgrading and transformation, our school corporates with STÄUBL, the world’s first industrial robot company. In cooperation, the only campus “STÄUBL Certified Industrial Robot Training Center” in Asia has been established. Currently, students have obtained more than 160 international certifications for industrial robots. In addition, in 2022, the school is working together closely with “Shangyin Technology”, “Intelligent Motion Association” and five other public and private high-level workers in Shuangbei to jointly establish the “Shuangbei Robot Alliance” and cultivate the talents in the field of robotics.
7. International standards, professional certification: Since the 2020 academic year, the school has cooperated with Japanese experts to guide and open Japanese cuisine courses. After passing the certificate examination, the highest can be awarded with a certificate by the Japanese official government Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). Currently, a total of 31 students have obtained bronze certificates, and 19 students have obtained silver certificates.
