Highlights of Implementation

1.Innovation of Teaching Strategies and Improvement of Teaching Quality

a.TPCU has offered students “License Enhancement Classes” and subsidized students “License Registration Fees.” Students have been motivated to acquire professional licenses permitted by their departments. The overall acquisition rate of licenses has increased from 49.99% in the school year 107 to 58.85% in 108.

b.TPCU has built school-level computer classrooms. More than 1000 students have taken courses on logical thinking and programming skills in the school year 106. In the school year 107, the number of students has exceeded 2,200 and by 108, the number of students has reached 3,929.

c.TPCU has built school-level language classrooms, providing students with dividing options for acquiring foreign languages, offering them advanced practical language classes, and improving their language ability so as to obtain language licenses, join overseas internship programs and study abroad. The number of students' language licenses has been increased from 1,268 in the school year 105 to 1,407 in 106 and 1,686 in 107. The number of overseas students has grown from 11 in the school year 105, to 19 in 106, and 23 in 107.

d.As for recruiting teachers, priority has been given to award-winning contestants in international competitions or skilled professionals in the industry. Taiwanese baseball players from Japan, well-known singers and harmony singers, program producers and music producers have been hired to enrich students’ practical experiences.

2.Development of School Features

a.TPCU has actively enhanced the international mobility of students. The number of overseas interns has been increased from 105 students in the school year 105 to 144 in 106 and 170 in 107. The number of overseas employed graduates has also been increased from 7 in 105 to 7 in 106 and to 12 in 107.

b.In response to industrial upgrading and promotion of Industry 4.0, TPCU has cooperated with STAUBLI, the world's first industrial robot company, to establish the "Training Center of STAUBLI Certified Industrial Robots," the only one on campus in Asia.

c.TPCU has conducted activities concerning robotic science education in remote areas and held teenagers’ robotic workshops in Dongyin, Matsu and outlying islands, Kinmen, in the school years 107 and 108, respectively.

3.Publicity of Higher Education

a.By the end of the school year 107, 133 teachers teaching professional subjects had completed more-than-a-half-year professional or technical-related studies or research. The number of teachers has reached 171 in the school year 108, accounting for 71.25% of all full-time teachers.

b.With the assistance of teachers who have excellent academic performances, TPCU has tried to enhance the teaching, research-doing, and school service of the other teachers. Besides, the improvement plans of teachers’ academic evaluation have been under control so as to fulfill the principle of the follow-up mechanism of improvement.

4.Fulfillment of Social Responsibilities

a.In the school years 106 and 107, more than 3,218 students served as volunteers in institutions such as Guandu Hospital, Taipei Mass Rapid Transit Company, etc. in neighboring communities for service learning.  Students participated in many patrolling activities so as to interact with the communities concerned.

b.By improving the ingredients of food products and developing local specialty beverages, the College of Ecology has cooperated with the stores in the Dadaocheng shopping district to revitalize its economy.
