Summary and Highlights of Implementation

 

I. Budget Implementation

The first phase of the main project of the school year 110 received a total of NT$ 21.7 million granted by the Ministry of Education. TPCU proposed a matching provision of NT$ 4.34 million (20% of the total subsidy). The budget as a whole has been completely executed according to the original plan.

 

II. Highlights of Implementation

1. To innovate teaching strategies and improve teaching quality so as to achieve the integration of knowledge and its applications and cultivate students’ employability

  1. Reinforcement of students’ practical skills: TPCU has offered students different “Advanced License Acquisition Classes.” Among them, the iPAS courses have covered five profession fields, surpassing the two profession fields offered in the previous year.   
  2. Value enhancement of patent projects: TPCU has offered ninety co-teaching courses with practitioners, helping students with projects and patents. Among the patent applications for the top one hundred companies nationwide, TPCU is the only university that has been ranked in the list of the top ten. The achievements of patents have been displayed in international competitions, announced by Intellectual Property Bureau, such as Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in Switzerland, Taiwan Innotech Expo, Seoul International Invention Fair, winning a total of 9 golds, 8 silvers, 10 coppers, and two special awards. 
  3. Effectiveness of students’ cross-domain learning: In accordance with course revisions, each of the colleges has offered cross-domain credit courses. There are five newly-established programs, taken by 138 students.
  4. Stimulation of learning interest and teaching effect: the number of teachers who have innovated teaching strategies has risen by 119%, and the number of students taught has risen by 113.08%, compared with that of the previous two years. More than 80% students have demonstrated their learning effectiveness.
  5. Uplifting of students’ international mobility and their acquisition of foreign languages: TPCU has provided students with dividing options for acquiring foreign languages, offering them advanced practical language classes. The number of students who have passed graduation requirements with their language licenses has risen by 12.45%. Besides, our teachers and students, all together 243 times, have conducted on-line communications with six sectors in both Josai International University and Kobe International University in Japan. 
  6. Dissemination and advancement of programming skills: In accordance with course revisions, TPCU has built school-level computer classroom, training students’ logical thinking and programming skills. The number of the students taking relevant courses has exceeded 4,000, and day school students account for more than 50%.
  1. To promote multi-directional enhancing programs so as to stabilize the enrollment rate of those economically and culturally disfavored students

TPCU has carried out proper counseling mechanism for students, including tutoring, professional license courses, contest coaching, and employment matching. It has provided with the students resources and budgets. There are about 716 students who have benefited from the mechanism. 

 

  1. To deepen regional industry-academia cooperation so as to create its co-effect and the development of industries

TPCU has planned with the Lion association to develop the “Lion Elite Academy.” Students have been interviewed and have participated in the training program of local tours. In addition, more cooperation has been conducted with the international FamilyMart. The school has also tried to develop the “Daylong Meal Course” with Yu Da Vocational School in Taipei, Yeang-der Senior High School in Hsinchu and Shu-Te Home Economics and Commercial High School in Kaohsiung. TPCU has activated the tailor-made training program to create catering elites.

 

  1. To highlight the question of the region and to fulfill social responsibilities

TPCU has tried to echo the sustainable development of the United Nations by taking part in social practices so as to fulfill its social responsibilities. The core theme of “local revitalization” as shown in the projects “AI New Agriculture and Local Revitalization” and “Current Situation of Shuangxi District Revitalization” help the school to communicate with the Shuangxi District.
